Term 4 annual project

Hi readers, I had just done a school annual project and its about building a house miniature and putting electrical circuits on it and also experimenting about electromagnet by trying to detect how much electricity would a roll copper wire make when a magnet was put inside the roll of copper wire. Here are the pictures of our house miniature and the making of it:
This is a picture of me, drawing the blue print of the house

This are my fiends, valerie and Keenan, also working on the blueprint

Still working on the blueprint, the measurement must be precise

The first wall standing (we use infra boards)

Its starting to take shape

The walls are finished, just need some decoration, we are going to put clay models inside and use a Ferrari  F430   for the car model

This is how we make the copper roll using used tissue core as the base

This is a sample of  our electrical circuit
I promise you readers, will  post a video of my group's presentation about electromagnet.

Term 3 Science gallery video

Hi everyone,  time seems to go so fast, now its term 3 and our teacher asked us to make a video gallery about the activities in term 3. Below is the video that you can watch and BTW if you like the song, you can download from this link: http://mp3skull.com/mp3/hall_of_fame_script_ft_will_i_am.html

Changes in material experiment

It has been long i did not type on this blog. I did not type on this blog is because I don't have any time to type. Anyway, last week I and my group experimented about changes in material. I know it sounds funny because I'm in grade 6 and I'm still experimenting those thing but what can I do? I'm just listening to my teachers command. We experiment of burning candle wax, butter, sugar, dissolving water with flour and dissolving baking soda with vinegar. It all turned to be a, well, boring experiment and nothing so special and fun about it.  All we need to do is to observe what will heppen when we do those things. Here are some pictures I post when we are doing the experiments. Take note that I put 2 links for more info at the bottom.

Experiment on Yeast cell

Today, we are experimenting about yeast cell. As you know, yeast produce Carbon Dioxide and Alcohol when they grow and divide. We are proving too that cell need energy to grow. So, we have an experiment. First, pour 250 ml of hot water to a flask 1 and flask 2 (we need 2 flasks) . Add a teaspoon of Fermipan yeast and a teaspoon of  sugar to flask 1 and only a teaspoon of yeast to flask 2. Cover both flask with a baloon. Here how it works: mesure the ballon every 5 minute. As the yeast grow and divide, it produce more carbon dioxide and alcohol. The flask with most cell will have a bigger baloon. You will find out that Flask 1's baloon is bigger than the flask 2's baloon. This is because the sugar in flask 1 provide energy for the yeast to grow and multiply faster. The more yeast present, the more carbon dioxide and alchohol are produced.
This is my team at work, I'm the far right

This is the result, the big baloon is flask 1 and the small one is the flask 2

Thats all for today bye!

What happen to my blog

I know it has been long since I have not write on my blog and don't think i'm gonna abandon this blog. Since I have moved to grade six, I have not write anything since my teacher don't ask me to write anything. This time my science teacher is Mr.Edmar from the philliphines, not Mr.Anjar anymore. For me, he is a little boring than Mr.Anjar who like to make things funny. Most of the time Mr.Edmar dosent have any expression on his face. he's like a robot and he speaks too slow (Sorry to  Mr.Edmar who maybe reading this at the moment, but its the truth.) For me, Mr.Anjar is the best science teacher. Now that I has to make another E-Portfolio, this blog will be reactivated

Lesson about soil

Hi there guys!, today we have just finished another unit about soil. In this unit, we learn how soil form and what and how to prevent soil erosion. I now have known how do soil form. There are 7 ways how soil is formed:
  • Wind
  • Waves
  • Water
  • Plants and animal
  • Human activities
  • Frozen water
  • Heat from the sun
The explanation for it is too long so, let's just move on to the next part: Soil erosion. There are 3 factors that affect soil erosion: Slope of land, Amount of vegetation and Speed and volume of running water. If the slope of a hill is steeper, the easier soil can be eroded or washed away. If there are small amount of vegetation at an area, soil in that area is more prone to soil erosion because plant protect soil from rain because, roots of the plants bind the soil together. The bigger the volume of water and the faster the water flow, the more soil is eroded. There are 3 ways to prevent soil erosion: Stop cutting down trees unnecessarily because it expose the soil to heat and rain, grow plants and corps along the slopes of hill and mountains and build retaining walls to hold back slopes of hills and mountains and I guess, I have revise the unit too much so,
